Saints take Meachem off PUP list

Meachem took to the practice field for the first time since undergoing toe surgery back in May. The procedure was to fix torn cartilage in the second toe of his left foot which, according to head coach Sean Payton, he injured during the 2009 season.

"He seems to be progressing pretty well," Payton said after Meachem practiced for the first time Monday morning.

Meachem, a first-round draft pick of New Orleans in 2007, missed his rookie season due to a knee injury, but broke out in 2009 with 45 catches for 722 yards and nine scores. He's racked up 1,011 yards and 12 TDs on 57 career receptions.
